The club has a team of about 15 to 20 kids who play at approximately six tournaments around the Southern Region from April to September each year.
International experience shows that time on the ice skating and with the puck on the stick is the leading way to advance youth ice hockey skills.
Midgets have two on-ice and one off-ice training sessions a week during the season, and one on-ice and one off-ice training sessions in the off-season.
Being a part of this competition is a prerequisite for selection for Southern Ice Hockey League representative team selection.
In ice hockey, you reside in a grade until the year that you turn the age of that grade. If you turn 16 this year, you are still an under 17. In the year that you turn 17, you are no longer an under 17, you move up to the under 20 grade. It does not matter where in the calendar year your birthday falls.
All U17 Midget players must be club members.
