Adult beginners are any adults or older teens who wish to learn to play ice hockey with other beginners.
- Ages: 15+
- Skill Level: Beginners
- Checking: Non‐checking
- Local Games: Beginners are able to play in the Dunedin Ice Hockey Leagues
Training sessions focus on individual skills such as skating, puck handling, passing and shooting, and build new members towards being able to play social hockey. These practices normally consist of a series of short lessons/drills followed by a game.
These sessions are aimed at those players who have never played ice hockey before. Negligible skating ability is required, although you will need to be able to skate forward and be able to turn (one direction will do). Stopping is also a useful skill to have, but not a requirement. Most people who have been to one or two public sessions at the rink are usually good enough to attend the adult beginners practice.
Gear may be available to borrow from the club gear room.
Adult beginners do not need to be club members. However, adult beginners need to be full members to play in the Dunedin Ice Hockey Leagues.
