The DIHA decided last night that all practices will start next week.

Peewees begins 6pm Tuesday 26th February
Midgets begins 6pm Thursday 28th February
All Seniors 7pm Thursday 28th February. This session will be split further once numbers of intermediate/advanced etc become clearer.

Practice fees are $350 for the year. This needs to be paid in two installments, half in March and the rest in the beginning of June.

NZ Juniors Win Gold

The New Zealand Under 20 Ice Hockey Team have won the gold medal in the IIHF U20 World Ice Hockey Championships Division 3 in Belgrade recently. New Zealand beat the favoured team Serbia to win their first ever World Championships. The team won the gold medal in a tight 5 – 4 game vs Serbia after beating Bulgaria (19 – 1), Turkey (20 -1), Armenia (8 – 4) and Australia (7 – 2). They are yet to play South Africa, but can not be beaten to the Gold Medal and will be promoted to Division 2 for 2009.
