			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://dunedinicehockey.co.nz/images/180/19.jpg" alt="Ice Fernz" />The New Zealand Ice Fernz have won the silver medal at the IIHF World Women&#8217;s Championships Division IV tournament after thumping Turkey 16 &#8211; 0 in Romania.</p>
<p>Current Dunedin players Zanzee Pielak-Jones and Mallory Handcock competed along with former Dunedin players Lyndal Heineman, Megan Gilchrist, Kate Strain, Tineke Hendry, Susan Green and Angelique Mawson.</p>
<p>Annabelle Lewis was named the defense person of the tournament and Tara Tissink was the top goal scorer with 10 goals from five games.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The New Zealand Under 20 Ice Hockey Team have won the gold medal in the IIHF U20 World Ice Hockey Championships Division 3 in Belgrade recently. New Zealand beat the favoured team Serbia to win their first ever World Championships. The team won the gold medal in a tight 5 – 4 game vs Serbia after beating Bulgaria (19 – 1), Turkey (20 -1), Armenia (8 – 4) and Australia (7 – 2). They are yet to play South Africa, but can not be beaten to the Gold Medal and will be promoted to Division 2 for 2009.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Please contact Niel Frear if you are intending to attend the 2008 IIHF Skills Challenge. Information about the challenge (including videos)  are available on the <a href="http://skillschallenge.iihf.com/">IIHF Skills Challenge website</a>. Players must report in 45 mins prior to each ice session. The plan for each session is to warm up, practice skills and then run through and take times and scores for various skills. Afterwards a Jamboree game for all skill levels will be played.</p>

<li>Gore 12:30pm &#8211; 2:00pm Saturday 19th January</li>
<li>Dunedin 9:30am &#8211; 1:00pm Sunday 20th January</li>

<p>Player are welcome to attend both skills sessions. The cost will depend on the number of players who attend.</p>
