Dunedin Beasts in the DIHL B-grade Autumn 2007The Dunedin Ice Hockey League (DIHL) Senior Non Checking (SNC) Autumn 2010 is a non-checking social ice hockey league run over seven weeks.

2010 Schedule

The spring 2010 DIHL will run from 16 March until 11 May. Games will be played once a week either on Tuesday evenings. Tuesday games* will start at 7.00 and 8.00 pm.

DIHL SNC? What’s that?

The DIHL SNC is where players come together to play some fun and social, competitive ice hockey. Players of all abilities are welcome, from absolute beginners to advanced players. Players can form their own teams (ask for our Team Information if you’re interested in this), or enter as an individual, where they will be drafted into a team.

Who can play?
No experience necessary, beginners are very welcome.

What do I need?
Helmet (all players must wear a hockey helmet that meets approved international standards, with chin strap properly fastened). Players under 18 must wear a full cage. Players 18 or over must wear a half-visor or cage or full-visor or cage which meets approved international standards). Mouthguard, elbow pads, gloves, shin pads, skates and stick.
Team jerseys are provided. Skates, sticks, helmets, shin and elbow pads, gloves are all available for hire at the rink ($10 per season) or from sk8.co.nz or trademe.co.nz. Mouth guards are not available (try The Warehouse).

What can I do to help?
We are always in need of help to run this league. Any parents or hockey supporters who are able to help out in any way, assisting with scoring, time keeping, sorting out equipment etc please email us at dihl@dunedinicehockey.co.nz to volunteer.

Games are three 15 minute periods long.
