A new rink has been built in Otago. The rink has been constructed in Albert Town, near Wanaka by Dunedin Ice Hockey Association member Keith Dickson. It is an outdoor rink with a synthetic surface rather than ice. It is 30 x 15m in dimensions and is situated beside the Albert Town tavern. Despite featuring a synthetic/plastic surface, the rink can be used with a regular pair of ice skates which glide over the slick plastic surface.
Information about when the rink is available for skating/hockey will be posted as available. To learn more about the development of the rink, check out the ODT article ‘Plastic skating rink gets nod from planners‘.

Thanks for sending it out Sue

If you would like to contribute to the videos gallery, please upload your clips to a video hosting site like Viddler, Vimeo or YouTube and send the embed link to webadmin@dunedinicehockey.co.nz. The U13 camp goes from Tuesday January 20th till 24th. The on-ice portion of the camp begins at 8am on Tuesday January 20th and will run till 6pm each day from Tuesday till Friday the 23rd.
